Permission for everything you import

Before adding any photo, video clip, voice recording, or piece of music to a Gift of Moments project, you must own it or have permission to use it. This applies to every kind of media the app lets you import — not just music. If you didn't create it yourself, you need the rights holder's permission (a license, an explicit grant of permission, or the item being in the public domain) before adding it to a project.

Music we provide

Gift of Moments includes original instrumental background tracks, created specifically for the app by our own internal synthesis process. They're instrumental, with no vocals, third-party recordings, or third-party samples. These tracks are provided for use within videos you create in Gift of Moments, not as a standalone download or for use outside the app.

Music you import yourself

You may select a compatible audio file through your device's file picker to add to your Gift of Moments project. You must have the necessary rights or permission to use any music or audio file you import — for example, because you recorded it yourself, it's licensed for this kind of use, or you otherwise have the rights holder's permission. You are responsible for any music you import into a project and for deciding where you publish the finished video that includes it.

What Gift of Moments will not do

Gift of Moments will not import music from Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube Music, or other DRM-controlled streaming services — those services protect their catalogs so tracks can't be copied out and reused in other apps or videos. Owning a song, or having a subscription that lets you listen to it, does not by itself give you permission to include that song in a video you create and share — those are two different kinds of rights, and the app does not grant you the second kind.

What can happen after you share a video

Social media and video platforms scan uploaded content for copyrighted music and other material independently of Gift of Moments. Depending on the platform's own policies, a video you share that contains music may be muted, have its audio replaced, be monetized in favor of the rights holder, or be blocked or removed — even if the app allowed you to add that music to your project. This is outside of our control.

You own your own content

You retain ownership of your own photos, videos, voice recordings, captions, and the completed videos you create with Gift of Moments. This policy governs how music and copyrighted material may be used within those creations — it does not affect your ownership of your original material.

Reporting a copyright or content concern

If you are a copyright owner and believe content associated with Gift of Moments infringes your rights, please email us at [email protected] with:

• A description of the copyrighted work you believe was used without permission
• Enough detail for us to identify the content in question
• Your contact information
• A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized

We will review the request and respond as promptly as we can.
